Wooden Message Delivery Box with Netting, Edo Period

This wooden message box most probably carried letters back and forth. For protection and convenience of carrying, it is enclosed in a cotton netting and a drawstring style of closing and carrying. A small wooden plaque attached could be the name of the owner or recipient. A truly Mingei piece in good condition.. Netting all intact.
