A vessel with a top hiding a cross, 1960 copy of similar vessels made during the period in Japanese history where Christianity was banned and people devised ways to show their preference to Christianity.  This particular one was created by the Karatsu kiln.  The top of the vessel looks innocuous enough but when you turn it over, there is an image of a cross imbedded .  Good condition, no crack or chip. Measures 9”x4”x4”, 10”H with cross.
