JPJJ14029 Antique Bronze Japanese Usubata
Bronze usubata used in Ikebana, the art of flower arranging. Three pieces, the round flat top with "nail heads" decorating the rim has the opening where the arrangement is placed. The bottom part has feet and an amazing articulated dragon circling the body. The dragon is detachable and could have other uses such as a brush holder. The craftsmanship and quality of this piece is superb. Ikebana aficionados, bronze and dragon collectors should be delighted with this unusual piece. Meiji period, measures 10 1/2" high x 34" diameter. Weighs 11 pounds.
