Porcelain Haisen (Sake Washer Bowl), Arita ware, Late Meiji Period

Blue and white painting of open and closed fans inside the bowl. The open fans have landscape painting on them.  The outside body has more painting of closed and open fans. Rim has thick indentations all around. Delicate paintings but the vessel is very hefty. Haisens were used for washing sake cups. Signs of use and age, in very good condition. 

Late Meiji period, c.1910-20. 

Measures 5 3/4"d x 4 1/2"H.
