Vintage Japanese Gosho-Ningyo Doll

Japanese palace doll, sitting holding a decorated inu-hariko. Dressed in an embroidered red silk bib tied in the back with the same red silk scarf around his neck; wearing a gold eboshi-style court cap. Gosho-ningyo are favorite symbols for adults to view the world through their eyes, depicting innocence. Some repairs in various parts, right knee, left hand and some portion of the back; not too noticeable. Papier-mache. Mid 20th Century. 5" high x 3 1/2" wide .
